Rusalka
Recently for Perth Fringe Festival I performed a solo storytelling show at The Blue Room theatre as part of 600 Seconds. The performance was accompanied by a shadow animation I have created at the end of last year with assistance from Yvan Karlsson and Ashleigh Morris.
Inspired by Russian folklore it tells of a girl, who's suicide brings about a curse on the prince who abandoned her and his kingdom, turning her into a rusalka.
Rusalka allowed for me to put into practise some new techniques of projection and shadow manipulation. What you see in the video is a internet friendly version of a live performance.
I am cooking up ways I can take these techniques further, and working on a new story for them to tell.
