CLARE TESTONI is a writer, playwright, and puppeteer.
Her performance practice often involves shadows, puppetry, and projection.
Her writing is interested in folklore, the gothic, and the digital.
Recently performed theatrical works include, The Double, Tale of Tales (winner of Best Production at The Blue Room Awards), The Beast and The Bride, and children’s show West of The Moon.
Clare has trained as a puppeteer with Spare Part Puppet Theatre, at the International Shadow Puppetry Institute in Bamberg, Germany, and in digital puppetry with Studio McGuire (U.K).
In 2020 Clare was an Artist in Residence at Spare Parts Puppet Theatre.
Clare has had short fiction published in ACE III, Westerly, Heroines Anthology, and in South of The Sun - an anthology of new Australian fairytales.
Clare was also formally the writer and presenter of Singing Bones, a podcast that explored the histories of folktales.
Originally from Sydney, Clare is currently based in Fremantle, Western Australia.
